I’ve Been Building in SILENCE — Now It’s Time to Make NOISE.

For years, I hid behind my work. But lately, I’ve been filming more, writing more, and letting myself be seen — because the human behind the art matters just as much as the output. I’ve been exploring how old-world beauty meets digital potential. This month is all about building bridges — between mediums, people, and moments that remind me why I create. I’ve steadily been adopting the art of discipline, both creative and physical. Between curating, photographing, and training, I’ve found myself balancing elegance and endurance. Somehow, they inform each other.

Like every plausible villain origin story - I’ve been pushed by emotional imbalances - a true test of my character, highlighting structural flaws within my personal and career life. But sometimes collapse is the only way to rebuild stronger. I’m not chasing perfection anymore — I’m engineering truth in story telling.. evolution, if you will. Heartbreak, endings, and disappointment can be powerful fuel. After enough of them, it’s not that you become numb — it’s that you learn how to heal with more grace. Each time, the pain reshapes you, and from that rebuilding, something beautiful always emerges. It used to destroy me. Now it refines me.

I started this newsletter because I wanted a space that felt real again. Somewhere away from algorithms and performance — a place to speak directly, reflect, and share the process behind everything I’ve been building. This is only the second send-out, but it already feels like an anchor — a way to document the chaos and clarity that come with creating, curating, and simply trying to exist as an artist in motion.

The majority of you receiving this may know me as photographer, filmmaker, media producer, art curator, or journalist. My work has been featured in Forbes Japan, Whitehot Magazine, Digital Arts Blog, and more, highlighting my impact across creative industries.

I serve as a juror for the prestigious Art & Writing Awards and work as a photographer and speaker for Scholastic, the world’s largest publisher of children’s books (including Harry Potter and Clifford). Beyond my creative practice, I advise early-stage companies and artists on communication strategies and remains deeply engaged with cutting-edge communities in experimental technology.

Some of my organization partners include: Scholastic, POSH, Penthouse Recording Studios, HUG.art, Bleucalf Magazine, ARCHIV3 Magazine, and RIDDIMS. You may also recognize me from my media production and social engagement work at Outer Edge LA 2023 or DotConnector (ifykyk) - just to name a few, and I’m excited to add a few more names to the portfolio. If you’re looking for someone like me to help build the aesthetic and strategy of your brand - I’m here!

  • Project Spotlight: The Weight of Worth

I’m currently curating The Weight of Worth — a digital group exhibition paired with a live ballet performance, exploring how we measure value: through the body, through technology, and through the self.

It’s the first time I’ve ever paired classical performance with digital art — and the results so far feel like a dialogue between centuries. Submissions are open until November 9th, and I’d love to see some new voices from the Web3 community in the lineup.

  • Behind the Scenes: Self-Documenting

I’ve been filming more of my process lately — building the habit of turning moments into memory. It’s not about perfection; it’s about permanence. I’ll be sharing clips on Instagram and Twitter if you want to peek into the chaos and peace.

  • Upcoming Work: Solo Exhibition & Representation

I’m in early development for my debut solo show — a fine-art photography exhibition planned for early–mid 2026. It’s my first foray into showing new work with the intention of auction and representation. If you’re part of a gallery, digital art platform, or agency in NYC that represents new media or hybrid artists, I’d love to connect.

  • Work With Me

Beyond exhibitions, I’m available for select creative direction, photography, film, and cultural production projects — especially those intersecting with art, music, or experimental technology.

If your team or brand is exploring storytelling in the digital age — through physical events, content campaigns, or hybrid activations — I’d love to collaborate. You can reach me directly at [email protected] or connect with me on IG/LinkedIn/Twitter. My portfolio is available here.

  • Connection & Gratitude

I’ve been visiting galleries all across the city lately, searching for inspiration and new collaborators. If you’re in NYC and want to talk art, tech, or just share a coffee, hit reply.

And if you made it this far, give my latest posts a like or comment — it goes a long way in helping me stay seen in a world built on algorithms.

Are we ever truly enough?

I’m really eager to publish some of the editorial features I’ve been working on lately - including this eye-opening conversation I had with Kotryna of Arete. Last week I interviewed them at their SoHo storefront and learned how the company is using data technology to drive insights + actions to better serve their fashion designers.

I recently just signed on as an art director with RIDDIMS. Since 2018, RIDDIMS has been a unique monthly dance party that sonically pays homage to the Afro-Caribbean music that has played a significant role in cultivating the sound of today. I’m excited to play a role in what the future of the culturally forward organization looks and feels like.

Training in Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu has become my reset button — a space where fear turns into focus, and pain transforms into clarity. It’s therapy without words, a ritual that keeps my instincts sharp enough to keep creating and moving toward what I dream of. I’m proud to be a part of the Chop and Chops MMA family. A big congratulations on them upgrading to a bigger space just a few blocks away from their original Bedstuy, Brooklyn location.

Stay connected on Instagram with me @joshsauceda for ongoing projects, exhibitions, and a closer look at my creative process.

Thanks for sharing a few moments with me. <3
