Back for year three at Scholastic’s Art & Writing Awards — returning once again to their SoHo headquarters as a juror.
It’s an honor to play a role in shaping the future of young talent across photography and painting. This experience always hits close to home — a reminder to reflect on my own path, still navigating a creative career in New York, still learning — while also recognizing the responsibility of helping guide what comes next.
I’m deeply grateful for the trust, the conversations, and the continued collaboration with the team at Scholastic. In addition to serving as a juror, I’ve also had the opportunity to photograph their regional events — and each year, this work teaches me something new about care, rigor, and the importance of institutions that genuinely champion young creatives.
Standing alongside an organization that has supported artists for over a century is not something I take lightly. I’m looking ahead to judging the national rounds later this month and the Spring ceremonies with a lot of excitement and respect for the legacy they carry forward.
As I continue this work, I’m very open to collaborating with more organizations, institutions, and brands that meaningfully support art and photography — especially those invested in education, mentorship, and long-term cultural impact. If that’s you, I’d love to connect.
I shared this open-call on Instagram and X as well.
Engaging with the post helps more than you think — and it means a lot.

Exhibition update
Curation is currently underway for the upcoming Madison Avenue exhibition.
All selected artists will be notified within the next 48 hours via [email protected].
The exhibition is scheduled for February 6, with the RSVP link going live soon. I’m excited to share more details shortly.
Work With Me
I’m currently open to work across creative direction, photography, film, and cultural production — especially projects that live at the intersection of art, music, fashion, culture, and experimental technology.
I’m most interested in projects that treat storytelling as a lived experience: physical events, content ecosystems, or hybrid activations that feel intentional rather than extractive.
If you’re exploring how narrative moves through the digital age, I’d love to talk.
You can reach me directly at [email protected], or connect via Instagram, Twitter, or Linkedin.
My portfolio is available here.
I’ve been spending a lot of time moving through galleries across the city — looking for new work, new conversations, and new collaborators. If you’re in NYC and want to talk art, music, technology, or simply share a coffee, feel free to hit reply.
Stay connected on Instagram with me @joshsauceda for ongoing projects, exhibitions, and a closer look at my creative process. IF you think anyone would enjoy this newsletter - they can sign up here.
Thanks for sharing a few moments with me. <3
